Stroke Recovery Clinic

Stroke Recovery Clinic

At NeuroWalk, our Stroke Recovery Clinic provides specialised neuro-rehabilitation for individuals recovering from stroke. A stroke can affect movement, muscle strength, balance, coordination, walking, hand function and the ability to perform everyday activities. The nature and extent of these difficulties can vary from person to person, making an individualised rehabilitation approach essential.

At NeuroWalk, rehabilitation begins with a comprehensive assessment of movement, muscle strength, balance, coordination, posture, mobility and functional abilities. We also consider the individual’s daily activities and personal goals to develop a rehabilitation programme that is meaningful and relevant to their everyday life.

Our rehabilitation programme may include movement re-education, strengthening, balance and postural control, upper-limb and hand rehabilitation, gait and walking training, coordination exercises, transfer training and task-specific functional activities. Where appropriate, therapy may also incorporate strategies to address changes in muscle tone, mobility and endurance.

At NeuroWalk, we focus on translating improvements in therapy into practical everyday function. Rehabilitation may involve practising activities such as getting out of bed, sitting and standing, walking, climbing stairs, using the affected arm, handling objects and performing household or personal activities.

Stroke recovery is a gradual and individual process. At NeuroWalk, rehabilitation programmes are regularly assessed and progressed according to each person’s response to therapy, functional abilities and changing goals. We also provide patients and caregivers with appropriate education and home-based strategies to support continued progress.

Our goal at NeuroWalk is to help individuals regain functional abilities, build confidence in movement and achieve greater independence in their everyday lives.

At NeuroWalk, every step forward is part of your recovery.
